- Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN experience in acute care; first-time travelers need 2 years of perm staff RN experience
- Patient Types: Medical-surgical/telemetry, post-op, sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, and occasional orthopedic or GI surgeries
- Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5-6 nights, CNA: 2 per shift (dependent on census)
- Floats: Will float to other Med-Surg units as needed

What You'll Do
- Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes proactively
- Manage wound care including JP drains, wound vacs, and Hemodialysis catheters
- Administer medications and pain management therapies
- Perform IV placements, blood draws, and other invasive procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including hospitalists, therapists, and support staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols
What You Need
- Active Louisiana RN license
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience (first-time travelers must meet this requirement)
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
- Strong skills in wound care, hemodialysis care, and patient monitoring
About the Assignment This is a new medical-surgical/telemetry unit designed to support a diverse patient population including post-operative, medical, and respiratory cases.
