Ecological Project ManagerNV5 is a provider of professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions to public and private sector clients in the infrastructure, energy, construction, program management and environmental markets.We are looking for an Ecological Project Manager to join our growing Ecological Services Department. Our team regularly designs and permits residential, non-residential, mixed-use, institutional, roadway, environmental restoration, and trail system projects where a wide range of environmental services are required. These services include local, state, and federal environmental permitting, wetland delineations, wetland mitigation design, project development & environment studies (PD&E), preparation of open space/habitat management plans, environmental resource assessments, listed species assessments, gopher tortoise surveys, vegetation and wildlife surveys, and expert witness testimonies. We work in a team atmosphere where collaboration, flexibility, and self-motivation are important.Main ResponsibilitiesClient development, marketing, and project managementWork on a wide variety of environmental permitting, environmental planning, environmental compliance monitoring, and natural resources projects as they relate to land development, transportation, and environmental restoration-focused projectsPrepare Environmental Resource Assessments to support project applicationsDelineate jurisdictional wetland lines to be approved by appropriate permitting agencyAssess and analyze project impacts to identify permit requirements; and develop strategies to avoid or minimize impacts and permit requirementsCoordinate with local, state, and federal environmental permitting agencies and staffCoordinate with clients and other professional disciplinesSupport senior ecological staff and other project managers across NV5 in completing required environmental studies, documents, and reportsResearch and interpret scientific studies, regulatory programs, guidance, and applicationsAssimilate and manage data, provide creative graphical representations of complex informationWork with geographic positioning tools and information systemsLeadership Expectations (Practice Lead Level)Managing multidisciplinary teamsOwning project budgets, schedules, and QA/QCServing as client-facing regulatory advisorDriving business development/proposal captureEnvironmental Assessments & ReportsLocal, state, and federal environmental permittingWetland delineations, wetland mitigation designProject development & environment studies (PD&E)Preparation of open space/habitat management plansEnvironmental resource assessmentsUMAMMBIListed species assessments, gopher tortoise surveys, vegetation, and wildlife surveysPermittingEnvironmental Resource/404 PermittingIncidental Take/Conservation PermitsAssist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearingsQualificationsEducation, experience, licensure, and skillsBS/MS Environmental Studies or BS/MS Biology or Natural Studies field degree from an accredited programSociety of Wetland ScientistsFWCC Gopher Tortoise AgentBotanyThreatened and Endangered SpeciesWide-ranging agency experienceWater Management Districts (WMD)US Fish and Wildlife (USFWS)Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC)Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE)Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP)FDOT (PD&E)Work environment and physical demands of this positionThe characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
