Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit during night shift hours
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythm strips as part of ongoing patient assessment
• Perform neurological assessments utilizing NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
• Adhere to a rotating weekend schedule, with approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact State license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical inpatient setting
• Familiarity with stroke protocols and neurological patient populations
• Experience working night shift in an acute care environment
