EducationUniversity degree in computer science or related field. Or equivalent work experience.Certifications in cloud, DevOps, or blockchain technologies.Knowledge of cybersecurity and infrastructure hardening.Experience10 to 12 years' experience in systems development; with 2 years exposure to the team leader roleRoles and ResponsibilitiesBlockchain Infrastructure ManagementDeploy, configure, and maintain blockchain nodes and validator infrastructure.Monitor blockchain network health, synchronization status, and transaction throughput.Manage production environments for private, or consortium blockchain platforms.Perform upgrades, patches, and version management of blockchain protocols.Production Operations & MonitoringEnsure 24/7 availability and reliability of blockchain services.Implement monitoring and alerting systems for blockchain nodes, APIs, wallets, and smart contracts.Analyze logs and metrics to identify performance bottlenecks or operational risks.Handle incident response, root cause analysis, and recovery procedures.Smart Contract OperationsSupport deployment and maintenance of smart contracts in production.Monitor smart contract execution, gas usage, and transaction failures.Coordinate rollback and emergency remediation procedures when required.Security & ComplianceImplement security best practices for wallets, keys, nodes, and infrastructure.Manage access controls, secrets management, and encryption mechanisms.Monitor blockchain activity and investigate anomalies.DevOps & AutomationBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for blockchain applications.Automate deployment, scaling, backup, and recovery operations.Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for environment provisioning.Improve operational efficiency through scripting and automation.Performance OptimizationOptimize node performance, storage utilization, and network latency.Tune blockchain infrastructure for scalability and high transaction volume.Support load balancing and disaster recovery planning.Conduct capacity planning and forecasting.Collaboration & SupportWork closely with blockchain developers and product teams.Provide technical support for production issues and deployments.Create operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.Participate in on-call rotations and production support activities.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Hyperledger Besu, Solana Experience with Linux system administration and distributed systems.Knowledge of smart contract technologies such as Solidity, Rust, Web3.js / Ethers.jsExperience with containerization and orchestration such as Docker, KubernetesMonitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, GrafanaSoft SkillsStrong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Ability to work in high-availability production environments.Strong incident management and problem-solving mindset.The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $121,564 USD Annual to $225,762 Annual USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
