Job Summary
W e are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support engineering and design activities for modular and hyperscale data center projects. This role is responsible for independently developing and reviewing electrical drawings, layouts, and equipment bill of materials (BOMs) in accordance with customer requirements, engineering standards, and industry regulations.
Job Description
- Prepare and review electrical drawings and bill of materials (BOMs) based on customer specifications
- Develop bulk Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and detailed BOMs independently
- Ensure all drawings comply with engineering standards, QA/QC requirements, and applicable codes
- Create equipment and layout drawings to demonstrate system functionality and integration
- Produce and maintain detailed electrical design deliverables, including: Cable routing and cable schedules, Electrical schematics and single-line diagrams, Panel drawings and panel layouts, Interconnect and loop diagrams, Lighting layouts and plans, Instrument layouts and plans, Earthing and grounding details, I/O schedules, Electrical termination and hook-up drawings
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts by simulating issues through design models and drawings
- Prepare Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) sequence drawings and procedures
- Compile installation procedures and documentation for customer submission
- Coordinate and supervise outsourced engineering and drafting work performed by third-party firms
- Review vendor drawings and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements and standards
- Generate reports and model data to support project teams, clients, and third-party stakeholders
- Participate in lessons learned initiatives to improve engineering tools, workflows, and procedures
Skills Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for hyperscale data centers, modular systems, or related industrial environments
- Experience in EPC modular drafting and design environments required
- Strong understanding of CAD and BIM workflows and design coordination
- Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and sketches to communicate design concepts effectively
- SolidWorks
- Autodesk AutoCAD
- Navisworks Manager / Freedom
- Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- PDF editing software (Adobe Acrobat, Foxit, or equivalent)
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting high-density data center or hyperscale infrastructure projects strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of facility electrical systems and related infrastructure
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering and construction environments
- SAP ERP systems and engineering modules
- Autodesk Revit
- Autodesk BIM 360
Education
- Technical certification in electrical design, drafting, or related discipline
Pay Rate
- $30 - $50 per hour ( Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
Additional Requirements
- Sched ule: 1st shi ft (8 AM – 5 PM)
- General understanding of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations, including: IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), IBC (International Building Code)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
