Schedule

Rotating schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30 / 19:00 - 07:30); every other weekend and holiday coverage required.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CNA/PCT to join our Pediatrics unit. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric and acute care settings. This role involves providing basic care to patients, assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting the needs of pediatric patients including those with tracheostomies and tube feedings. The position requires flexibility to float to different units and campuses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with basic ADLs including transfers, bathing, and hygiene.
• Monitor and record vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature.
• Provide care for patients with tracheostomies and tube feedings (G-tubes/NG-tubes).
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff and families regarding patient care.
• Participate in patient repositioning and care routines as needed.
• Float to various units within the hospital as required, adapting to different patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Maryland state CNA license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Two years of experience in pediatric and acute care settings preferred.
• Experience with trach care and patients with brain injuries or spinal cord injuries is highly preferred.
