Corporate Controller

Job Summary The Corporate Controller is a senior accounting leader responsible for overseeing financial accounting, internal and external reporting, month‑end closing processes, and the integrity of accounting controls for Continental Resources. This role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and partners closely with business operations to ensure accurate, timely monthly close, consolidation, and delivery of financial results while supporting audit, compliance, and policy stewardship. The position supervises accounting teams and drives process improvements, technology enablement, and adherence to SOX and company policies. Duties and Responsibilities Oversee financial accounting and reporting functions, including management of month‑end close processes and internal controls over financial reporting. Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures. Lead the financial reporting team in the preparation of internal financial reports and external SEC financial reporting. Partner with Operations, Land, Treasury, Business Development, Marketing, Tax, Legal, IT and others to manage accounting impacts of business initiatives, transactions, joint ventures, system implementations, and special projects. Manage technical accounting assessments, research and document complex accounting transactions, and implement new standards, ensuring compliant adoption and communication of impacts to leadership. Support international operations and serve as liaison with international subsidiaries to ensure compliance with local accounting standards and statutory audit requirements. Drive process optimisation and technology enablement (e.g., ERP enhancements, reporting automation, data quality governance). Develop and coach accounting staff, build effective teams, and foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. Certified Public Accountant. Knowledge of Oil and Gas industry accounting. Minimum five (5) years of experience with a large public accounting firm. Minimum five (5) years of Oil and Gas industry experience. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including the ability to research, document, and communicate the impacts of complex accounting issues. Experience managing monthly closing processes and preparing internal financial reports. Experience with SEC reporting requirements and drafting/reviewing publicly filed financial statements and disclosures. Experience supervising and developing accounting professionals. Acceptable pre‑employment background and drug test. Preferred Qualifications Experience with international operations, foreign subsidiaries, and local statutory audit requirements. Experience with enterprise ERP systems and reporting tools, preferably SAP. Capital market transaction experience, including bond offering processes. Prior involvement in process transformation or system implementations. Experience supporting internal and external financial audits. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
