Job Description
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to neonates in a fast-paced, critical care environment.

Position Information:

• Role: RN
• Specialty: NICU
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 (1900-0700)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Hours: As required by facility, every other weekend
• Call Requirements: No call required

Qualifications:

• Required Licensure: Current RN License, eligible for licensure in the state
• Required Certifications: BLS, NRP
• Preferred Certifications: TNCC, PALS
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
• Preferred Experience: 2 years in a NICU level 3 or higher
• Vent Competency: Required
• Float Requirements: May be required to work in NICU, PICU, or Postpartum based on patient volumes

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 46
• Patient Ratios: Not guaranteed; typically 1:3 based on acuity
• EMR: EPIC

Job Responsibilities:

As an RN in the NICU, you will:

• Provide direct patient care activities for neonates, ensuring comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to enhance patient comfort and outcomes.
• Function within the scope of nursing practice as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act.
• Adhere to established guidelines and standards of practice while upholding the mission and values of the healthcare organization.
