Ephrata, Pennsylvania

A healthcare facility in Ephrata, Pennsylvania is seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for ongoing locum coverage.

Compensation: $530/hr, 24 hr call $4000, Night call $1000, call back $600/hr

Schedule


Full-time coverage


5 clinic days per week


8-hour clinic shifts


Clinic Hours:


Clinic starts at 8:00 AM


First patient scheduled at 8:15-8:30 AM


Last patient scheduled at 3:30 PM


30-minute lunch included


Call Requirements


Weekend call coverage: 2 weekends per month


Night call coverage: 10 days per month


Call rotation: 1:2


Weeknight call:


4:15 PM - 8:00 AM


Typically 2-3 calls between 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM


Rarely receives calls after 9:00 PM


Weekend call:


24-hour coverage


Includes rounding responsibilities


Covers ER and hospital consults


Consulting service only; hospitalists manage admissions

Patient Population


Adult Hematology & Oncology patients


Rural community setting


Approximately 15 patients per day


Case mix:


60% Hematology


40% Oncology

Clinical Responsibilities


Solid tumor oncology


Benign hematology


Malignant hematology


Participation in disease-specific and general tumor boards

Procedures


Bone marrow biopsies not required


Lumbar punctures not required


Port access not required


Bone marrow transplant consults/care not required


Infusion & Treatment Services


14-chair infusion center onsite


2-bed infusion room


Oncology-certified nursing staff


Radiation Oncology onsite

Practice Environment


EMR: Epic


Support structure includes:


1.3 Hem/Onc physicians onsite


3 APPs


Onsite pharmacist support

Requirements


Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology


Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC required


DEA required


Minimum 1 year of experience required

Additional Information


Estimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 90 days


Temporary privileges available for providers with clean files


Established patient panel already in place
