Description

The Yard Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers and materials throughout the facility to support daily operations. This role plays a critical part in keeping the yard organized, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining a safe working environment.

What You'll Do

• Operate yard trucks to move trailers between docks, staging areas, and storage locations
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely trailer placement
• Maintain a clean, organized yard with clear and safe pathways
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed
• Track and document trailer movements, including arrival and departure times
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Participate in training and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of truck driving or similar experience
• Experience operating yard trucks or heavy equipment
• Valid CDL with a clean driving record
• Strong understanding of yard safety practices
• Ability to maneuver trailers in tight spaces
• Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
