Mechanical Project Engineer

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer in Portland, OR to support project management teams on commercial mechanical construction projects.

Impact
- Accelerate project delivery by providing reliable administrative and technical support to project managers
- Strengthen project documentation and communication across internal teams and trade partners
- Build foundational project management skills on multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects
- Contribute to cost control by tracking budgets, change orders, and material procurement

Responsibilities
- Assist project managers with day-to-day administrative tasks including correspondence and meeting minutes
- Track and process submittals, RFIs, and change orders through project management systems
- Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules with vendors and suppliers
- Prepare and update project schedules, cost reports, and progress tracking documents
- Attend project meetings and distribute action items to appropriate team members
- Support field teams with drawing distribution, specification reviews, and punch list management
- Assist with project closeout documentation including as-builts, warranties, and O&M manuals
- Learn mechanical construction methods, systems, and industry practices through hands-on project involvement

Requirements
Must-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or related field
- 0-2 years of construction or engineering experience (internships count)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn project management software
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in pursuing a career in mechanical construction project management

Nice-to-Haves
- Prior internship or co-op experience in construction
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, or similar construction software
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical piping systems
- OSHA-10 certification
