Sanitation Yard Assistant

Department:  Warehouse

FLSA:  Non-exempt 

Job Type:  Full-time  

Salary Range: $20 – depending on experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We seek a highly motivated and fast learning yard assistant. The yard assistant will prepare all Sanitation service trucks for service routes, including filling trucks with water, adding sanitizers and other supplies for portable toilets. This position will also oversee maintaining a clean exterior of the service trucks. This position will also load and unload portable toilets and hand wash stations from the trucks, ensuring they are cleaned and organized. Prior to delivery to customers, the portable toilets and hand wash stations will be prepped by removing any graffiti, replacing old stickers, cleaning the unit, and stocking supplies. In addition, this position will maintain the storage room, inventory of supplies, overall appearance, and organization of the yard. This position will ensure workplace health/safety requirements are met. All other duties as assigned.

POSITION DUTIES:

• Planning, coordinating, and monitoring the receipt. Order assembly and dispatch of goods.
• Efficient utilization of space and mechanical handling and equipment, ensuring quality and safety objectives.
• Having a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these.
• Keeping accuracy and accountability of inventory.
• Deliveries and pick-ups.
• Motivating, organizing, and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE AMAZING AT B.A.T.S:

• Valid CA Driver’s License and clear driving history
• Strong verbal, writing, and math skills
• High school graduate
• Traffic Control, rental yard, or constructions knowledge.
• Excellent multi-tasking ability and time management skills 
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk/stand for long periods of time 
• Ability to safely follow instructions and communicate efficiently
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.

In addition, this position will ensure workplace health/safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building.

POSITION DUTIES

• Efficient utilization of space and mechanical handling equipment, ensuring quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.
• Having a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these.
• Keeping stock control systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy.
• Motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
