Job Description: Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Quality Technical Analyst to join our Quality department based in Kinston, NC. Our team manufactures crucial aircraft components. On the shop floor you'll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft. Responsibilities Perform root cause analyses. Recommend and support the implementation of corrective actions that are necessary to reduce or eliminate nonconformance to design specifications. Investigate from the shop floor to the engineering lab to identify and eradicate defects from the product using numerous Root Cause Analysis Tools. Interface with company employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. Have capability to understand the build process on the manufacturing line, engineering requirements on the drawing, planning operational requirements, and then able to correlate the three to ensure that they are inline or identify gaps. Have the capability to work with the team and develop PFMEAs and control plan. Apply knowledge of quality policies and practices to develop, document, and maintain quality systems and operating procedures. Develop and create FAIs for customer presentations in Net-Inspect. Support the review and inspection of supplier-related hardware – Document First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for internally produced hardware. Plan and coordinate improvements in manufacturing (e.g., hardware and tool acceptance, variability reduction and assembly operations). Finalize First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) / data collections. Perform design reviews to ensure that quality is engineered into the product and tool. Perform configuration audits and reviews of products, tools, and processes. Compile, measure and analyze process capability data, models to perform trend analyses and risk assessments. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. Aerospace and/or Automotive industry experience preferred. At least 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or manufacturing industry required. Must be willing to work second shift OR weekend schedule (12 hour shifts Fri‑Sun). Physical Requirements Onsite: 100% Vision: Daily able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Hearing: Daily able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Carrying: Weekly able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Lifting: Weekly able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Pushing / Pulling: Weekly able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Squatting / Kneeling: Weekly able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Travel: 5% able to travel independently and at short notice. Walking (including routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site. PPE Required: Safety glasses, bump caps and safety-toes shoes must be worn on manufacturing floor. Travel Required 5% domestic/international travel. Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to articulate complex issues to others. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential. Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.
