Data Architect with Data Governance

Job Title: Data Governance SME (Data Architecture Focus) Location: Jersey City, NJ Employment Type: Full-Time / W2 Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Governance SME with strong expertise in data architecture and governance frameworks . The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing current data ecosystems, defining target-state architectures, and aligning data governance initiatives with enterprise and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Assess current data architecture , including data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines Map end-to-end data flows across systems and applications Identify gaps impacting data lineage, data quality, and governance Define target-state architecture aligned with governance tools and frameworks Recommend integration patterns (API-based, event-driven architectures) Validate the feasibility of proposed data and governance solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architecture with governance objectives Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum practices and SDLC processes Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum 8+ years of experience in Data Governance (Design, Development & Implementation) Strong understanding of data architecture (warehouse, lake, pipelines) Experience with data lineage, data quality, and governance frameworks Hands-on experience with SQL, Spark, and ETL/ELT pipelines Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SDLC Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Skills Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., BCBS 239) Experience with data governance and catalog tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica) #J-18808-Ljbffr
