Electrical Assembler Level I

Automation Personnel Services is looking for experienced Electrical Assemblers Level I for a company based in Houston, TX . In this role, you will primarily be responsible for performing manual labor in a production environment; assembling electrical parts of various product lines.

Pay Rate
$18.00-$23.00 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule and Hours
Monday-Friday 7:00am until 4:30pm

Electrical Assembler Level I Duties and Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and follow wiring diagrams, unit drawings, schematics, P&IDs, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
• Work independently with little overnight or assistance.
• Prepare products electrically for final testing, including testing, calibration, and troubleshooting including loop checks.
• Assemble components, devices and wiring per assembly drawings.
• Understand and troubleshoot wiring.
• Mount, install, attach or perform similar operations with components or subassemblies into assemblies.
• Knowledge in proper use of hand, air and power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, cutting wheels, etc.) required to perform the job.
• Install, run and terminate conduit per assembly drawings.
• Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or routes and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals and contact points.
• Adjust or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
• Perform complex layout and component mounting according to drawings under close supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Drill and tap holes in specified locations to mount components on a specific assembly using hand and power tools.
• Terminate all electrical wiring according to wiring diagrams using the proper tools.
• Pack glands with Kopex.
• Confer with supervisor and engineering to plan and review activities so issues regarding production, quality or procedural problems may be identified and resolved.
• Assists less experienced Electrical Assemblers as necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Electrical Assembler Level I Requirements and Qualifications

• Five plus years of experience or related experience.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) including with fractions.
• Working use of Microsoft Office products include Word and Excel.
• Able to learn and use label and engraving machines.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards.
• Ability to identify work not performed in accordance with quality standards.
• Adhere to established health, safety and environmental (HSE) procedures and can identify HSE risks.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
