Medical Director Hospitalist - Pediatric

**Job Description:** The role of Medical Director for the pediatric hospitalist practice encompasses the following responsibilities: Responsibilities Provide oversight for high‑risk deliveries. Conduct emergency room consultations involving pediatric patients. Manage admissions of low‑acuity pediatric cases. Deliver comprehensive well‑newborn care within the hospital setting. Collaborate with the affiliated Level‑III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose for newborns requiring intensive care, including coordination of transport when necessary. Maintain a full‑time schedule consisting of twelve 24‑hour shifts per month, with on‑call responsibilities from home. Support a hospital facility that manages approximately 500 deliveries annually. Engage within a collaborative work environment, welcoming applications from commuting candidates. This is a permanent, full‑time position that necessitates residence within the immediate local area. Relocation may be required. Qualifications Active Board Certification in Pediatrics (BC Pediatrician) is required; no exemptions will be made. A valid medical license for California or the willingness to obtain one is required.
