About Fox Run Golf Club The development of 281 acres of farm land into Fox Run Golf Club began with a vision. This vision would come to be shared by one person, Mr. David Ault with the knowledge, desire, and resources to make it a reality. The site of Fox Run Golf Club was located by Mr. Ault and resoundingly approved by golf course architect, Gary Kern. The land was purchased and efforts to form the nucleus of a membership began. In November, 2023 with David Ault sadly passing, Jeff S. Budrovich a long time member of Fox Run Golf Club had a vision on returning Fox Run as one of the premier Golf Club in the country. His search for partners to develop a private golf club deserving of national recognition would ultimately attract two leaders in St. Louis business community; Ron K. Komlos and Charles J. Reneski. Which formed the Fox Run Golf Club ownership group. In June, 2023, the ownership group acquired Fox Run Golf Club and Architect Art Schaupeter was hired to re‑design the golf course. On the strength of the Ownership Group and the Architect selection, sufficient membership was formed allowing golf course renovation to begin in June, 2023. Architect Art Schaupeter was retained to develop what would hopefully become one of the top golf courses in the United States. The owners thoroughly researched private golf clubs with profiles similar to the aspirations held for Fox Run Golf Club. The founders of highly rated clubs around the Midwest were instrumental in providing information and insight into the development of a successful club. Fox Run would become a club for both men and women and the course would facilitate play by golfers of all levels of ability. The course now features new USGA‑spec 007XL bentgrass putting greens, Dominant Extreme Bentgrass fairways and tees, HGT Kentucky Bluegrass intermediate cut, and Tall Fescue rough. Key upgrades include a new Toro Lynx 2‑Wire HDPE irrigation system, Better Billy Bunkers with Pro Angle sand, and full regrading/regrassing of the entire golf course. This fall, construction begins on a new eight‑acre six‑hole bentgrass par 3 short course. Our annual maintenance budget exceeds $2,000,000. Position Summary The Assistant in Training (AIT) is a structured training position designed to develop the successful candidate into a well‑rounded turf professional and future Golf Course Superintendent. The AIT will work closely with the maintenance team to support daily operations while gaining comprehensive, hands‑on experience across all facets of professional golf course management at a newly renovated private club. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily golf course setup, preparation, and playing condition inspections Perform hand watering of greens and other priority areas; assist with irrigation scheduling, maintenance, and water management Participate in chemical and fertilizer applications, including calibration, record‑keeping, and regulatory compliance Support equipment maintenance, inventory control, and scheduled repairs Provide supervision, training, and support to the maintenance team as needed Maintain drainage systems and assist with overall turf health and course presentation Communicate regularly with the Superintendent regarding activities, goals, plans, and course conditions Support a comprehensive safety program and ensure proper chemical storage, handling, and disposal per regulations Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in golf course maintenance required Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered) Self‑starter with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to learn and advance Possess or ability to obtain a Missouri Pesticide Applicator License (Category 3 or equivalent) Valid driver’s license Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, etc.) Frequent walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50–80 lbs Regular exposure to chemicals, fertilizers, dust, allergens, insects, and moderate to loud equipment noise Comfortable working in close proximity to moving equipment and on uneven terrain #J-18808-Ljbffr Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA)
