VP, Corporate Tax

* Assist in organization-wide corporate state and local tax planning and preparation activities, including negotiation and litigation activities.* Direct subordinates in a manner that minimizes the state and local tax liability and the impact of taxes on the financial statements while complying with tax law and financial accounting standards.* Identifies changes in state and local tax law and tax accounting rules to determine impact on the company.* Oversee the preparation, research, and review of state and local tax returns consistent with management philosophy and tax law requirements.* Review models and provide guidance and support to identify, analyze and assess tax risks and opportunities.* Identify state and local tax effects of prior and proposed business transactions for the purpose of developing the most favorable tax position.* Consultation with auditors, lawyers, and regulatory agencies on tax matters.* Aligns and leverages enterprise resources to accomplish key objectives; assigns clear accountability for important objectives.* Understands the perspectives of different functional areas in the organization; has a firm grasp of external conditions affecting the organization.* Uses effective strategies to facilitate organizational change initiatives and overcome resistance to change.* Seizes new opportunities and consistently generates new ideas; introduces and creates needed change even in the face of opposition.
