Technologist - Microbiology

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for its microbiology department at a Milwaukee hospital location. The role involves performing routine and complex microbiology testing, operating laboratory instruments, and ensuring specimen quality and accurate result reporting in a high-volume production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess specimen acceptability based on established quality criteria
• Perform routine and complex microbiology procedures per departmental protocols
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments for proper functionality
• Execute preventive maintenance and quality control procedures with documentation
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care delivery

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Science, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• One year or more clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
• Pass standardized color blindness test
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
