Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours (830 AM - 9 PM) Experience: 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Spine and vascular experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Utilizing the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Key Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient conditions. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with the patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the patient and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education tailored to patient and family needs. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor/preceptor. Promotes teamwork and identifies opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Engages in the Practice Governance model.
