Child & Family Peer Recovery Coach

Position Overview Children's Peer Support Specialist at the Stapley Health Center, Mesa, AZ. Location & Schedule 1111 S Stapley Dr #5060, Mesa, AZ 85204 Full‑time, Employed – Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Flexible scheduling available. Position Summary Under the Agency’s policies and professional requirements, engage as a member of an interdisciplinary clinical team working with individuals diagnosed with General Mental Health conditions, substance use disorders, or serious emotional disturbances. Provide recovery‑based coaching for patients and their families, support the achievement of therapeutic, educational, and social goals through one‑to‑one and group psychosocial support, brief clinical interventions, motivational interviewing, active listening, and sharing personal experience. Work under the direct supervision of the Children’s Clinical Site Manager. Responsibilities Work collaboratively with the clinical team to engage, educate, communicate, and coordinate care with patients, families, behavioral health, medical and dental providers, community resources, and others to ensure all services in the individualized service plan are implemented, including active participation in Child and Family Team meetings. Conduct face‑to‑face interactions with patients, families, or other involved parties in the home, community, and recovery clinic to assess, maintain, or enhance a person’s functioning. Participate in the Consumer Advisory Council at the site, promoting patient and family participation. Facilitate peer support and psychosocial groups, either in clinic or community settings, and engage patients in group participation relative to their recovery goals. Provide transportation for patients when medically necessary in a Terros Health vehicle, and/or coordinate alternative transportation. Deliver excellent customer service to patients, internal and external provider agencies, state entities, and other stakeholders (e.g., probation officers, advocates, hospital staff, jail staff, vocational rehabilitation). Assist patients in locating necessary resources beyond covered services to meet basic needs. Encourage, assist, and support patients in expressing their perspective throughout assessment, service planning, and delivery while maintaining a focus on recovery. Conduct outreach and follow‑up of services, including crisis interaction, missed appointments, and hospital discharges to ensure adequate resources are available. Respond to patient crises in the field and collaborate with CFT and other clinical team members.
