Structures Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Structures Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of structural construction activities on a major project. The successful candidate will coordinate site operations across concrete, steel, formwork, reinforcement and associated structural packages, ensuring work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, programme requirements and applicable legislation. This role will involve close collaboration with project management, engineering, subcontractors, suppliers and site crews to maintain smooth and productive operations.

Key responsibilities will include planning daily and weekly activities, allocating labour and equipment, monitoring progress and productivity, and identifying potential delays or technical issues before they affect the programme. You will review construction methodologies, coordinate interfaces between structural and other disciplines, inspect workmanship, and ensure materials and installations meet required standards. The role will also involve leading toolbox talks, promoting a strong safety culture, enforcing site procedures, supporting quality inspections, maintaining accurate records and contributing to progress reporting, forecasting and performance reviews. Effective supervision of subcontractors and the development of a positive, accountable site team will be central to your success.

Applicants should have substantial experience supervising structural construction works, preferably on large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure or civil engineering projects. A relevant trade qualification, technical certificate or construction-related qualification is desirable, together with a strong understanding of structural sequencing, temporary works, construction methods, quality control and health and safety requirements. You should be confident interpreting technical drawings and schedules, managing competing priorities and communicating clearly with stakeholders at all levels. Strong leadership, problem-solving and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project demands. This is an opportunity for a proactive construction professional to play a key role in delivering complex structural works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
