Position OverviewThis role involves conducting a range of imaging procedures, such as CT scans and X-rays, at a technical level that does not require constant oversight.
Essential Job Functions- Provide technical support and patient care to assist physicians, nurses, and other staff in addressing the needs of patients throughout the facility.
- Operate and maintain all imaging equipment, including X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS.
- Conduct imaging exams in line with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, ensuring the physician on duty is informed of the results.
- Carry out basic clinical procedures under the guidance of the physician or nurse on duty.
- Keep all necessary documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
- Collect laboratory samples and perform lab tests according to established policies and regulations, including COLA and CLIA.
- Ensure an adequate supply of reagents and consumables for quality testing.
- Perform routine maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment as per established protocols.
- Conduct Quality Control as mandated by the laboratory.
- Engage in Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis as required by the facility.
- Maintain records of all analytical activities for a minimum of two years.
- Execute all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this role and document them for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director.
- Assist as an ER Technician when necessary.
- Ensure an adequate supply of reagents and consumables for quality testing.
- Perform routine maintenance and function checks on imaging equipment as per established protocols.
- Travel to various facility locations as required.
- Participate in staff meetings or other company-sponsored meetings as needed.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program is required.
- Associate’s degree in Radiology is preferred.
- Certification as a medical radiologic technologist as mandated by the state of practice is required.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography is required.
- Registration with ARRT in computed tomography is preferred, with specific exceptions:
- CT certification is required for the Las Vegas Market.
- CT certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire for the Pennsylvania market.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Preferred experience includes 2+ years in radiologic/imaging roles.
- Preferred experience includes 1+ years in CT.
- Preferred experience includes 1+ years in an emergency room setting.
- Proficiency with various X-ray/CT equipment, including manufacturer hardware/software and PACS.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
