Principal Product Engineer - Evinova

AstraZeneca seeks a Principal Product Engineer to lead AI-powered feature development for Evinova, balancing hands-on coding (40%) with architecture and mentorship. The role emphasizes shipping production systems with durability, mentoring engineers, and making reversible early decisions that scale sustainably.
Responsibilities
- Design and build AI-powered product features with production-grade testability, observability, and graceful degradation
- Own full-stack technical direction: application code, data, infrastructure, deployment, security, and cost optimization
- Mentor and coach team engineers on judgment and mental models, calibrating involvement to decision stakes
- Make architectural choices optimizing for reversibility early and durability when problems are validated
- Identify and manage blast radius of technical decisions, focusing on directional risks at scale
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- 8+ years software engineering experience, including senior/staff/principal-level technical leadership
- Shipped production AI features: agent systems, RAG pipelines, model orchestration, or equivalent
- Full-stack capability: application code, data systems, and infrastructure design
- Production AWS experience: architecture, deployment, and operation at scale
- Demonstrated mentoring ability and track record elevating other engineers
