Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: NC or compact license Certifications: Basic Life Support Must-Have: Experience with Cerner, IV competency Description: Travelers must start on one of the following dates: August 3rd, August 17th, August 31st, September 14th, September 28th, October 12th, October 26th, November 9th, November 16th, December 7th. The facility has 355 beds. It is home to various centers including brain, cancer, heart, lung, orthopedics, general and vascular surgery, surgical weight loss, women's center, and Level 3 NICU. The emergency department has 32 beds, the inpatient rehab unit has 29 beds, and there is a 15 bed surgical suite and imaging department. The behavioral health hospital consists of 81 beds. Required floating may occur to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units where medical surgical level patients will be cared for. Patient ratios are 1:6. Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps. The electronic health record system used is Cerner. The patient population includes adult and geriatric medical surgical patients. Ideal candidates will be team players and strong patient advocates. This is a busy floor, so the ability to keep up is essential. Preferred experience includes charge nurse experience. Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, end of life care/hospice, falls, weakness, sepsis, and infections. Required education includes an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Scrub color is flexible. No unacceptable attire is specified.
