TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Bronx, New York, 10457!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 34.5 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year in ICU settings, specifically CVICU, SICU, or MICU. License: Valid RN License Certifications: Required - BLS, ACLS Preferred - CCRN Must-Have: Experience with titrating critical drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, and insulin. Description: Department includes a Critical Care Unit with a total of 11 beds. Typically, 6 nurses are assigned per shift. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:1-2, with the possibility of 3 patients when short-staffed. Common diagnoses include post-catheterization, cardiac conditions, post-surgical cases, and more. RNs are responsible for titrating all critical drips. There is a Charge Nurse on duty who also has a patient assignment. Patient Care Technicians are present, usually 1 per shift. Fellows and residents are on-site 24/7 to provide support. Respiratory Therapists are available around the clock but may be assigned to multiple units. Nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting their own telemetry strips. Shifts typically run from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Travelers are expected to maintain flexibility in scheduling and may need to cover gaps in permanent schedules. There is a requirement for at least 2 weekends per 4-week schedule, covering both Saturday and Sunday. Holiday participation may be requested as part of the rotation. Travelers will be the first to float, primarily to step-down units with a 1:3-3 patient ratio. Scrub color is royal blue. The unit-specific orientation consists of classroom instruction and hands-on training.
