Senior Underwriter, Vice President-US Locations /Hybrid/Remote

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Specialty Lines (Kidnap & Ransom) team at Marsh. This role will be based in New York City and Bethesda. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

• Underwrite and manage a national portfolio of new and renewal Kidnap & Ransom business.
• Meet or exceed production, retention, and profitability targets.
• Drive profitable growth through disciplined risk selection, pricing, and portfolio management strategies.
• Prepare and present underwriting referrals with supporting analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
• Negotiate terms and conditions using approved underwriting guidelines and rating methodologies.
• Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with broker partners to enhance visibility and market share.

What you need to have:

• 10+ years of underwriting experience, with a strong preference for Kidnap & Ransom, Political Risk, or Specialty Lines.
• Proven track record of managing and growing a profitable underwriting portfolio.
• Strong technical underwriting, risk assessment, and pricing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and make sound underwriting decisions within delegated authority.

Base salary range: $88,200 to $187,900. Base pay will be determined by experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and applicable minimum wage requirements. The position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
