Position Title Post-Doctoral Fellow – Experimental Heat Transfer & Multiphase Flows Job Summary The University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a Post‑Doctoral Fellow in the Complex Fluids and Multiphase Transport Lab. The role focuses on experimental heat transfer and interfacial flow research, working closely with faculty and graduate students. This is a temporary full‑time appointment for up to 12 months. Responsibilities Conduct two‑phase heat transfer and interfacial flow experiments. Collaborate with modeling experts to advance translational research. Mentor graduate students and contribute to the academic environment. Publish results of research or scholarship while under faculty supervision. Develop and propose research projects within your area of expertise. Qualifications Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering. Recent completion of the Ph.D. program (within the last 8 years). Strong background in liquid‑vapor phase change heat transfer, multihphase flows, and interfacial instabilities. Experience with advanced imaging and sensing techniques (high‑speed interferometry, particle image velocimetry, acoustics sensing). Knowledge of thermal‑fluid system design and fabrication. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Employment Details Position Number: POST40 Employment Type: Temporary – Full‑time Hours: 40 per week Pay: $60,000–$70,000 Location: Duke, UNC Charlotte Expected Start: 03/20/2026 Expected Length: 12 months Additional Requirements Applicant must provide an official transcript of the highest earned degree.
