Student Assistant

Overview Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Neuroscience within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). The primary purpose of the Student Assistant position is to, under direction, perform and assist with laboratory services and procedures in support of research activities of the laboratory. Responsibilities Prepare reagents necessary for experiments and independently perform experiments. Carry out experiments involving mice, including tissue collection. Record and analyze data from experiments. Maintain a proper data notebook pursuant to department and PI standards. Contribute to the intellectual development of the project. Contribute to the writing of manuscripts. Qualifications Must be a current Rutgers student. Computer literacy required. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform job duties. Highly motivated, able to work independently, organized, and capable of multitasking. Strong writing skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior laboratory experience preferred. Compensation & Benefits Salary: Minimum $15.92/hr, Mid Range $75.00/hr, Maximum $150.00/hr (subject to qualifications, experience, and funding).
