University Admissions Counselor – Traditional Ground Campus – Grand Canyon University Responsibilities Serve as a servant’s heart, providing exceptional counseling to prospective students and families through in‑person visits, phone, email, text, and Zoom. Host and implement community event and activity plans that build awareness of GCU academic programs and campus community, driving inquiry generation. Engage community college faculty, staff, and students, presenting at fairs, school visits, campus visits, and community/campus events. Maintain a full schedule of outreach activities, traveling 1–3 times per month outside Phoenix, and occasionally available evenings and weekends. Act as the face of GCU in the Phoenix territory, promoting the university’s transformation and culture. Work independently from home in Phoenix, guiding prospective students through the admissions process and maximizing enrollment targets. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree. No delinquent or in‑default federal student loan status; if in rehabilitation, credit report must be current. Outstanding time‑management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize competing priorities while traveling. Clear communication and engaging presentation skills, comfortable speaking in person, in writing, and on phone. Well‑developed listening skills and high emotional intelligence to coach diverse students and families. Self‑motivation and drive to succeed, taking ownership of time dedicated to student success. Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel for events. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CRM tools is a plus. Prior experience in higher‑education admissions, community outreach, or related professional settings is advantageous. Experience as a Grand Canyon University alumnus or attendee is a bonus.
