About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a 13-week contract position in Kealakekua, Hawaii. The RN will provide critical care nursing services in a 9-bed adult ICU , with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 and 1:1 assignments based on patient acuity.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and provide comprehensive critical care nursing for patients requiring intensive and high-acuity clinical management.

• Manage ICU patients with a typical 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and provide 1:1 care when clinically indicated.

• Recognize changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate critical-care interventions, and respond effectively to emergency situations.

• Provide appropriate nursing care for stable pediatric patients and assist other departments based on operational and patient-care needs.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate care.

Requirements

• Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.

• Minimum 2 Years of Intensive Care / Critical Care Nursing Experience Required.

• Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS Certifications Required.

• Current PALS Certification Required.

• Pediatric Nursing Experience Required; Ability to Work 12-Hour Day or Night Shifts and Holiday Coverage Required.

The ICU Registered Nurse will provide safe, responsive, and evidence-based critical care while supporting adult and occasional pediatric patient needs.
