Administrative Patient Services Representative - Urology

This full-time, day-shift role serves as the primary point of contact for urology clinics, representing physicians both over the phone and at the front desk. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, exceptional customer service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Promptly answer and direct telephone calls with courtesy and professionalism.
- Warmly greet patients and communicate clearly with patients and their families, keeping them well-informed.
- Accurately collect and enter demographic and insurance information into the system.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding patient information.
- Schedule appointments following established protocols and assist patients or guardians with patient portal setup during visits.
- Conduct patient confirmation calls and guide patients to complete necessary registration paperwork via the patient portal.
- Show compassion and respect when interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Take and process messages promptly and update patient demographic and other required forms at each encounter.
- Verify insurance coverage, collect co-payments, and inform patients about their financial responsibilities.
- Demonstrate accountability, work independently, adapt to change, and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience.
Experience
Preferably two years of experience in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting, with demonstrated customer service skills and responsibility.
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Physical and Mental Requirements
This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Work Environment
Medical office setting with occasional exposure to infectious diseases and potentially hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
