Senior HVAC Controls & Boiler Systems Technician

$1,000 Sign-On Bonus

Your impact

Picture this: a pre-dawn alert pings the CMMS about an AHU fault and a boiler temp variance. You assess trends, dispatch to the site, verify electronic/pneumatic control setpoints, and stabilize an oil/gas fired water tube boiler. You confirm auxiliary systems — pumps, de-aerating tanks, and air compressor blowers — are healthy, then coach a teammate through balancing a fan-powered box. Before you leave, you inspect the work to local code, update the CMMS notes, and brief the client on findings.

Responsibilities

• Execute CMMS-assigned preventive and corrective maintenance; record detailed work histories.
• Install, repair, and maintain motors, engines, pumps, belts, fans, air handling units, VAV and fan-powered boxes.
• Manage safe operation of environmental control systems and boiler plants with strict adherence to CGL Facility Maintenance standards, OSHA, and client procedures.
• Diagnose system issues using inspection, testing, and monitoring techniques; employ tools safely and effectively.
• Conduct quality inspections for workmanship and compliance with building and safety codes.
• Escort and coordinate subcontractors during onsite work; verify outcomes.
• Mentor HVAC and General Trades technicians; provide structured training, oversight, and feedback.
• Travel to other facilities when specialized expertise is needed.
• Maintain clean, safe work environments; complete all compliance, safety, and developmental training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4–6 years of commercial HVAC and building maintenance experience.
• Refrigeration experience (preferred).
• Experience managing or mentoring others (preferred).
• Broad trade knowledge: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, general building maintenance.
• Blueprint/as-built literacy; ability to quickly learn facility design, equipment locations, and environmental control procedures.
• Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; strong interpersonal and client communication skills; ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification (required).
• State Issued HVAC License (required).
• HVAC Certification (preferred).

Pre-employment: Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
