This position is located in Ruffin, NC

As a Journeyman Electrician in the oil and gas industry in Ruffin, NC, you will be pivotal in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring adherence to NPFA 70E standards and regulations. Your role will be integral in guaranteeing the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems, in strict compliance with NPFA 70E regulations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to enhance the reliability and longevity of electrical equipment, while ensuring all activities align with safety protocols.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine layout and installation procedures, adhering to NPFA 70E standards throughout.
• Collaborate closely with other trades and project stakeholders to coordinate electrical work within project timelines and ensure seamless integration with broader project objectives.
• Uphold stringent safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment for both you and fellow team members, always demonstrating a commitment to NPFA 70E standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including comprehensive maintenance logs and detailed equipment documentation, in line with NPFA 70E requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid driver license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass pre-employment Drug Test.
• BAT and Background check.
• Fit for Duty Test.
• Journeyman Electrician certification issued by the jurisdiction, or equivalent, along with a strong understanding of NPFA 70E standards.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Journeyman Electrician in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on NPFA 70E compliance.
• Proficient in electrical systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair, ensuring strict adherence to NPFA 70E regulations throughout.
• Thorough understanding electrical code, regulations, and standards, including NEC and NFPA, with a specific emphasis on NPFA 70E requirements. Ability to effectively read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints, ensuring NPFA 70E guidelines are rigorously followed in all installations and repairs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other team members, emphasizing NPFA 70E compliance in all project-related communications.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry Certification, coupled with specialized training in NPFA 70E standards and practices.
• Hazardous Locations (HAZLOC) certification, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of electrical safety in potentially hazardous environments.
• Extensive experience with electrical systems in hazardous environments, such as Class I, Division 1 areas, always ensuring full compliance with NPFA 70E regulations.
• Additional training or certifications related to electrical safety, first aid, or environmental awareness, with a demonstrated commitment to NPFA 70E compliance in all activities.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk extended distances over uneven terrain, including while carrying tools, materials, or equipment.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs using three points of contact.
• Ability to safely transition from ladders to elevated work surfaces, including scaffolding and platforms.
• Ability to work safely at elevated heights, including but not limited to work performed on scaffolding (supported and suspended), ladders, stairs, manlifts, aerial lifts (boom lifts and scissor lifts), elevated decks, platforms, structural steel, and temporary work surfaces.
• Ability to effectively read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints, ensuring NPFA 70E guidelines are rigorously followed in all installations and repairs.
• Physical capability to work in extreme weather conditions and lift heavy equipment/materials as needed, while consistently prioritizing adherence to NPFA 70E safety protocols.
• Willingness to work in rotations in remote man camp settings.
• May require working up to 7days a week, 12hour a day.
