About the Facility – Eglin Air Force Base Eglin Air Force Base is in northwest Florida, comprising over 640 square miles. This is a military-friendly area and a major tourist attraction due to the white sandy beaches. Eglin is located 60 miles east of Pensacola, FL. Spanning five wars, modern-day Eglin evolved from a distant and honorable past. Eglin was established in 1935 as the Valparaiso Bombing and Gunnery Base. Today. Eglin 96th Test Wing tests and evaluates non-nuclear munitions, electronic combat systems, and navigation/guidance systems hosting 40 tenant units representing virtually every major command including our sister services. Clinical Psychologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The Clinical Psychologist practices within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Cord of Conduct.
• Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
• Psychiatric diagnosis according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
• The Clinical Psychologist shall provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; and help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
• The Clinical Psychologist assists in the rehabilitation of patients.

Clinical Psychologist - REQUIREMENTS

• Degree/Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association-accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. Successful completion of an internship in psychology by the American Psychological Association.
• Experience: A one-year fellowship or residency in health psychology or behavioral medicine OR possess one year of experience in the last four years in the evaluation and treatment of patients who have pain, psychological factors affecting their physical condition, or difficulty coping with medical problems.
• Licensure: Must possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license or certification to practice as a psychologist.
• Must have Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or the client.
• Must possess the ability to pass a government background check/security clearance.
