Wire Machine Operator

Wire Draw OperatorWe are seeking a dependable and safety-driven Plater Machine Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for operating copper plating equipment, monitoring production quality, and preparing copper rods for the wire manufacturing process. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, metal processing, or industrial production and is committed to producing high-quality products while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.Key Responsibilities:Operate, monitor, and adjust copper plating machinery to ensure safe and efficient productionInspect plated copper rods and finished products to verify quality standards are metPrepare finished copper rods by pointing, chamfering, labeling, and staging materials for shipment or the next production processComplete production orders, quality documentation, and inventory records accuratelyPerform routine equipment inspections and identify mechanical issues requiring maintenanceTroubleshoot minor machine issues to minimize production downtimeOperate forklifts to transport raw materials and finished products throughout the facilityAssist with material handling and production support as neededMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and standard operating proceduresRequired Qualifications:Minimum one (1) year of experience in manufacturing, production, metal processing, or industrial operationsMinimum one (1) year of forklift operating experienceStrong mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate production equipmentAbility to read and complete production paperwork accuratelyStrong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safetySelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to regularly lift and carry up to 50 poundsComfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts in a manufacturing environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience operating overhead cranesPrevious experience in wire and cable manufacturing, copper processing, metal fabrication, or continuous production environmentsKnowledge of preventative maintenance and machine troubleshootingExperience working in quality-controlled manufacturing environmentsWork Environment & Physical Demands:Work in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, elevated temperatures, airborne particles, and industrial chemicalsFrequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working around heavy equipmentAbility to safely navigate production areas and work around moving materialsRegular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 poundsRequired to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe bootsCore Competencies:Machine Operation, Copper Processing, Wire Manufacturing, Industrial Production, Manufacturing Operations, Forklift Operation, Material Handling, Quality Control, Mechanical Aptitude, Equipment Inspection, Preventative Maintenance, OSHA Compliance, Safety Awareness, Production Documentation, Time Management, Reliability, Teamwork
