Inventory Control Specialist - Contract

Location: Murfreesboro, TN

Pay: $20/hr

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM (four 10-hour shifts)

Overtime: No mandatory overtime

This role is open ONLY to US Citizens as all candidates must be ITAR compliant (International Traffic & Arms Regulations). Candidates who are H1B or F1 (OPT/CPT) candidates are NOT permitted in this role. This role is NOT open to corp2corp (C2C) or corp2hire (C2H).

Position Summary

We are seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support inventory accuracy and material control within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for performing cycle counts, researching inventory discrepancies, maintaining accurate inventory records, and utilizing computer-based systems to track and manage materials.

The ideal candidate will have previous inventory or material control experience, hands-on cycle counting experience, and strong computer skills. This is an onsite position offering a consistent four-day workweek with no mandatory overtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and routine cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Verify physical inventory against quantities recorded in inventory management systems.
• Identify, research, and help resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Accurately enter and update inventory information using computer-based systems.
• Monitor inventory locations and ensure materials are properly identified and accounted for.
• Assist with inventory audits, reconciliations, and related reporting.
• Investigate discrepancies involving material quantities, locations, or transactions.
• Work with production, warehouse, materials, and other teams to address inventory issues.
• Maintain organized and accurate inventory documentation.
• Follow established inventory control procedures and company policies.
• Support general material and inventory control activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in inventory, inventory control, material control, warehousing, or a related function .
• Prior hands-on experience performing cycle counts .
• Strong computer skills and comfort working with inventory data and computer-based systems.
• Ability to accurately enter, review, and reconcile inventory information.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and follow through on resolution.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous inventory experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using an ERP, warehouse management, or inventory management system.
• Experience researching and resolving inventory discrepancies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet applications.
