Description

American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for a night shift psychiatric unit requiring AK RN licensure and 2+ years of experience.

Details

• Acute care Behavioral Health unit including medical detoxification and residential programs
• 12-hour night shifts scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Medication dispensing managed through Pyxis system

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
• 1 year of addiction treatment experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for implementing and supervising nursing care in detox and residential programs
• Administers medications, treatments, and tests, and implements provider orders
• Oversees patient admission process including pre-screening, TB screening, and health history intake
• Documents patient observations and care accurately in accordance with nursing standards
• Supports patient engagement in treatment following detoxification
• Maintains a safe, sanitary environment using infection control and universal precautions
• Provides patient education and attends required staff meetings and chemical dependency training
• Accepts local candidates at the same pay rate
• COVID vaccination or declination form required; unvaccinated staff must wear masks
• Required training modules must be completed prior to starting the assignment
• Travelers with prior employment at any Central Peninsula Hospital location must disclose this for a prior employment check
