This role fosters creativity, self-expression, and social interaction through a variety of artistic mediums while creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.Adult Activity specialists must be available to work Monday - Thursday, 10 AM to 4 PMEssential Functions and Primary Responsibilities of Position:Plan and implement structured, theme-based art activities aligned with Cornerstone program goals (e.g., community voice, cultural expression, wellness)Facilitate a variety of art forms, including painting, drawing, crafts, mixed media, and group art projectsCreate inclusive, participant-centered activities that reflect the interests and cultures of the communityEncourage social interaction, collaboration, and self-expression among participantsAdapt activities to meet the needs of diverse populations, including older adults and individuals with varying abilitiesMaintain a safe, welcoming, and respectful program environmentPrepare and manage materials, ensuring proper use and storage of suppliesTrack attendance, document participation, and contribute to program reports as required by DYCDSupport outreach efforts by promoting activities and encouraging consistent participationCollaborate with other staff to support intergenerational and community-wide eventsAssist in the development of age-appropriate activities in one or more disciplines or content areasProvide direct supervision of youth activitiesAssist in maintaining daily attendance records for program participantsAssist in the provision of basic counseling services as needed (peer mediation, self-control, decision making)Accompany Adults on cultural and recreational field tripsAssist in ensuring a safe environment for program participantsActively participate in all professional development sessions, supervision, and team meetingsQualificationsHigh School diploma requiredAssociate's degree in child development, recreation, or a related field preferredMinimum of 1-2 years' experience working with youth in child development, recreation, or a related fieldBenefitsAt HeartShare we offer a comprehensive benefit package based on full-time/part-time status.
