Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate (CRE) professional to support the origination, underwriting, and execution of complex lending transactions. This individual will work closely with senior originators and cross-functional teams to evaluate new financing opportunities, coordinate due diligence, and manage transactions from initial underwriting through closing. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced lending environment and has a strong understanding of commercial real estate credit, financial analysis, and capital markets. Key Responsibilities Partner with senior bankers and originators to assess new lending opportunities and perform detailed credit and financial analysis. Develop comprehensive underwriting packages, financial models, and investment recommendations for internal review and pricing discussions. Oversee the execution of transactions from signed term sheet through closing, coordinating with borrowers, legal counsel, credit, compliance, KYC, and third-party consultants. Manage external due diligence providers, ensuring reports and underwriting support are delivered accurately and on schedule. Prepare asset summaries, transaction memorandums, and portfolio analysis to support loan approvals, syndications, and securitization initiatives. Collaborate with Capital Markets teams throughout syndication and securitization processes by responding to investor and rating agency inquiries and assisting with marketing materials. Maintain accurate transaction records and update internal loan management systems throughout the deal lifecycle. Serve as a primary point of contact for borrowers, brokers, and other external stakeholders, providing timely updates and managing expectations. Assist with pipeline management by reviewing incoming loan requests, evaluating opportunities, and presenting recommendations to the lending team. Support Asset Management, Capital Markets, and Syndications teams by providing underwriting documentation and responding to post-closing due diligence requests. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and special projects designed to enhance operational efficiency across the Commercial Real Estate lending platform. Ensure all transactions adhere to internal credit policies, underwriting standards, lending guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications 5-10 years of experience in commercial real estate lending, underwriting, or loan origination within a bank, debt fund, or other CRE lending platform. Strong knowledge of commercial real estate valuation, credit analysis, loan structuring, and transaction execution. Advanced financial modeling skills with expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Argus Enterprise and/or Rockport is preferred. Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
