Experience Designer

JANSON, named to the Inc. 5000 (2026) as one of the fastest-growing privately held businesses, is recognized for delivering excellent service to the military customers we support both domestically and abroad. At JANSON, design is not decoration—it is mission enablement. The environments we create help military personnel train more effectively, collaborate more efficiently, build stronger communities, and feel valued for their service. Every project is an opportunity to improve the daily experience of those who support and defend our nation. As JANSON expands nationally and internationally, you will work across the full arc of a project—from concept to construction—alongside senior designers who will invest in your growth and a team that believes creativity can drive meaningful impact. JANSON's work is primarily with and for US military customers. Position Summary The Experience Designer carries projects through design development and documentation. Working under the direction of the Senior Experience Designer and alongside the Senior Exhibit & Industrial Designer, the role develops approved concepts for military headquarters, dining facilities, training and collaboration spaces, and modernization projects into space plans, material and finish selections, environmental graphics, and documentation packages, and keeps those projects moving between design reviews. This is the role for a designer with a few years of professional experience who can own a workstream end to end, produce reliable, well-crafted work without close supervision, and is ready to take on more customer-facing and concept responsibility over the next two to three years. Key Responsibilities Design Development Develop approved concepts into space plans, elevations, material and finish palettes, furniture selections, lighting intent, and environmental graphics under senior direction. Documentation Produce control drawings, graphics packages, and installation documentation to JANSON standards. US citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain access to US military installations; work supports Department of Defense contracts. Preferred Qualifications Experience with government, institutional, or hospitality projects. Environmental graphics or wayfinding experience. NCIDQ, or progress toward it.
