Job Summary: TELUS Digital is a global arm of TELUS Corporation, a major telecommunications service provider in Canada. They are seeking a Data Annotator who will engage in diverse projects involving data annotation to label and categorize content on a short-form video streaming platform, enhancing AI algorithms for content moderation and recommendation systems. Responsibilities: • Engage in diverse projects involving data annotation, analysis, and identification of content repository samples, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and high recall rates while adhering to predefined guidelines • Implement and maintain data classification and taxonomy standards, demonstrating a thorough understanding of business objectives while collaborating effectively with the data team • Assist the AI team in enhancing algorithm recognition and machine learning capabilities by analyzing recommended data labels, providing substantiated suggestions for annotation/labeling, and contributing to discussions on algorithm model improvements • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape, examine data samples across various business segments, and refine the classification standards for data labels and sample databases • Enhance data annotation workflows, optimize label sampling and review processes, and boost the efficiency of both manual and automated annotation standards Qualifications: Required: • Fundamental computer proficiency with strong data entry capabilities • Adaptable to change and flexible in dynamic environments, embracing new projects and shifting priorities with ease • Strong independent work ethic with the ability to self-manage • Ability to learn, implement and adapt to constantly changing procedures and policies • Demonstrated stable job tenure • Strong emotional intelligence and resilience to overcome negative interactions or exposure to severe and/or graphic content • Sound coping, emotion regulation, and stress-management skills • Ability to perform duties objectively, devoid of inherent biases or personal beliefs • Accurate and critical work attitude • Proclivity towards complying with procedures, policies and objectives set in place and taking a disciplined approach when undertaking tasks • Strong prioritization skills • Ability to think critically and make quick decisions • Enthusiastic and proactive team player • Collaborative and has a growth mindset • Strong spelling, grammar, and reading skills • Professionalism and ability to work with diverse personalities and uphold high integrity standards, adhering to all privacy and confidentiality requirements • Flexibility to work a 40 hr work week during any day/any shift as needed within the program’s hours of operation: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm | Monday - Friday (subject to change based on business needs) • High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: • Experience in content or community moderation is a plus Company: Telus Digital provides data solutions and human intelligence services.
