POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled CDL Truck Driver to join our transportation team. As a CDL Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods and materials to designated destinations. Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring the timely delivery of products and contributing to our company's reputation for reliability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•\tIt is the driver’s responsibility to know, understand, and operate according to all laws and DOT regulations.
•\tConduct pre-trip, inter trip, and post trip inspection for all units operated in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulation 49 C.F.R. § 396.11, including checking water levels, oil, tire condition, lights, and overall equipment status before starting each day.
•\tResponsible for daily fueling of the tractor(s) used.
•\tOperate vehicle safely while maintaining DOT compliance and following all local, state, and Federal requirements. Respecting the value of the vehicle, cargo and surrounding traffic.
•\tResponsible for keeping your tractor clean and neat. (Also pertains to when assigned use of spare truck; keep neat, clean and refueled).
•\tCollaborate with shipping as required.
•\tCoordinate with Fleet Maintenance as required.
•\tVerify load and load destination and proper load securement.
•\tEnsure trailers are properly sealed, checking seal numbers against the Bill of Lading.
•\tResponsible for filling out all paperwork on any returned products.
•\tResponsible for completing the day’s work that is picked from the schedule.
•\tEvery driver is responsible for picking up Epic pallets and not leaving them for the next driver.
•\tAccurately report hours of service in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations 49 C.F.R. § 395.8 and 49 C.F.R. § 395.11 using an electronic logging device (ELD). Review log and then certify log at the end of each day.
•\tResponsible for chocking trailers before unhooking at loading and unloading docks.
•\tMust turn off engine when hooking or unhooking inside of truck bays.
•\tBe courteous to customers and all people at locations.
•\tReport to work at designated times for assigned route/routes in a well-rested condition ready to work and drive.
•\tDocument and report any defects or concerns with truck/tractor and/or trailer within the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) and submit it to Fleet Maintenance.
•\tResponsible for Compliance with all Epic GMPs & Safety Policies.
•\tAny other duties assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•\tMust be at least 21 years or older
•\tMust pass all DOT requirements, physical exam, and drug test.
•\tValid CDL license
•\tGood MVR and safe driving record.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

•\tFluid levels and Fueling: Must have general knowledge of proper procedures of checking fluids / fuel and replenishment process.
•\tFMCSA Regulations: Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements and regulations, including hours of service.
•\tDefensive Driving: Attending all required safety training and knowledge of defensive driving techniques that anticipate dangerous situations, despite adverse conditions or the mistakes of others when operating a motor vehicle. This includes managing space around vehicles, managing speed of travel, maintaining awareness of other drivers, checking, and using mirrors, and using indicators such as signaling.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ABILITIES:
•\tRemain in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
•\tOperate motorized vehicles such as tractor trailers.
•\tClimb ramps and/or stairs to enter/exit tractor and/or trailer.
•\tAbility to engage in crawling, crouching, kneeling, or stooping as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
•\tWork varying hours of the day as required.
•\tWork in environments requiring personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel toe boots and close-toed slip resistant shoes.
•\tWork in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. Company Description
