Staff RN - Labor and Delivery - Per Diem 12 Hours Nights (7:00 PM to 7:30AM) (Union, Non-exempt)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountable to the unit manager and/or director of the department. Adheres to identified nursing standards of practice. Annually demonstrates competence in critical behaviors for the assigned area. Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork, maintaining a positive attitude and working relationships. Has IV competency in IV therapy. Demonstrates competency in medication administration and knowledge prior to administering medications. Responsible for the planning, directing, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for each patient, delegating as appropriate. Participates in organization-wide Performance Improvement Program through orientation, education, quality control, performance improvement, and planning activities. Demonstrates the IRAISE values in all professional and patient care interactions. Performs other duties as assigned by manager / director / clinical lead RN. Job Requirements Education Associate degree in nursing (minimum required) Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred) Work Experience Registered nurse with current RN experience in the specific service or department (preferred). Current RN experience in the assigned area of nursing (preferred). One-year acute care experience (preferred). Licenses and Certifications Current RN licensure in the State of California (required). ACLS certification required when appropriate. BLS certification required. Pay Transparency The hourly rate range for this position is $49.86 - $76.69. Position Summary A clinically competent, registered professional nurse who utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care to patients. Services are provided for acutely ill patients with medical/surgical diagnoses or maternal child health, which are the primary reasons for admission. Functions as a member of interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs nursing care for patients with complex, multisystem needs. Demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization.
