What You'll Do:

M Street is currently seeking an Executive Chef to join our culinary leadership team at Virago. This individual will play a key role in leading kitchen operations, mentoring team members, and upholding the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and service. The ideal candidate is a confident leader, a strong communicator, and thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• • Lead and inspire kitchen team with a focus on training, execution, and accountability
  • Ensure all dishes meet our culinary standards and are executed according to recipe specs
  • Maintain inventory, manage prep, and support daily kitchen operations
  • Monitor food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness across all kitchen areas
  • Lead kitchen with staffing, scheduling, and operational goals
  • Uphold a professional and team-oriented kitchen culture

What We're Looking For:

• 4+ years in an Executive Chef or equivalent leadership role in fine dining
• Sushi experience preferred
• Proven longevity with previous restaurant groups (2+ years preferred)
• Culinary-driven with a passion for innovation—constantly pushing creativity in flavor, technique, and plating while staying ahead of culinary trends
• Expertise in product knowledge, station mastery, and prep execution
• Strong organizational skills and a collaborative, positive mindset
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Commitment to hospitality and professional growth
