Center of Store Senior Buyer

Responsibilities The Buyer is responsible for the purchasing and timely delivery of products for specialized categories within our Center of Store Department. Manage Distribution Center inventory across a number of specialized categories. Optimize store service levels at 97% or above. Maintain communication with division retail teams and vendors to ensure promotional activity support. Manage inventory levels and product rotation. Negotiate logistical elements that improve cost and efficiency. Evaluate suppliers’ offerings against key business criteria and product specifications. Work with the Logistics Coordinator to manage the timely and efficient flow of goods. Forecast and communicate weekly product needs for the Division. Develop relationships with brokers, vendors, store operations, distribution center, and division office personnel. Manage billing and invoice discrepancies (E-Pass). Perform periodic product quality checks and walks in the distribution center. Frequently perform other duties as assigned. Operate in a temperature‑controlled office environment. Utilize calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment. Have daily contact with co‑workers, suppliers\/vendors, and customers. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree, Management Certificate or equivalent experience. Retail operations management experience. At least 2 years of buying experience. Marketing experience preferred. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Office programs. Demonstrated good judgment and ability to achieve results with minimal supervision.
