The Road Supervisor provides front-line supervision for drivers and support staff while ensuring safe, timely, and efficient shuttle operations from pull-out through route completion. This role oversees vehicle readiness, fleet condition, route coverage, supplies, documentation, and on-road performance while partnering with the Operations Manager on fleet movement, repairs, staffing coverage, and operational records. The Road Supervisor also supports driver recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, driver certifications, road testing, incident investigation, and safety follow-up to maintain service quality, regulatory compliance, and company standards.

Compensation:
- $32.00 - $36.50 / Hour
- Pay range dependent on years of experience, CDL class, and endorsements.
- Internal TransWest CDL Drivers receive a $3.50 added premium on their base rate.

- One paid personal day annually. 8 hours for full-time Team Members and 4 hours for part-time Team Members.
- Seven Company-Observed Holidays. Full-time non-exempt Team Members receive eight hours of holiday pay and part-time non-exempt Team Members receive four hours of holiday pay for eligible holidays.

Responsibilities:
- Provide front line supervision to drivers, program support staff, and additional staff assigned to the Shuttle Transportation Program, representing supervisory responsibility for 20+ team members.
- Ensure efficient pull-out of all shuttle routes at the beginning of each shift so that all shuttle service starts on time and can maintain efficient and safe service.
- Assign available vehicles to each route, ensure that all external signage is current, and drivers have necessary supplies and documentation paperwork.
- Work with the Operations Manager pertaining to fleet management and movement of assets.
- Oversee fleet of 20+ shuttle vehicles as well as support vehicles.
- Review fleet condition daily and assist in scheduling vehicles for repairs as determined by the Operations Manager
- Ensure that the fleet is clean, working with the drivers to schedule and perform cleaning activities.
- Oversee ordering and procurement of equipment and supplies, ensuring that staff and daily operations have all equipment and supplies needed; ensure that Shuttles are stocked with required supplies, schedules, and other informational pieces at all times.
- Work with the Operations Manager to cover scheduled and unscheduled absences in the event a driver does not check in on time.
- Assist with data gathering or updating shuttle operations records as needed.
- Conduct on-the-road observations at various locations in the system, monitoring on-time performance, shuttle operations, customer service, safe driving principles and document/follow-up with any areas of concern.
- Assist in the investigation of workplace crashes/injuries and ensure adherence to safety standards and safe workplace practices.
- Conduct driver recruitment activities, including candidate screening, interviewing, onboarding, and new hire orientation to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Manage driver certification and re-certification requirements, maintaining accurate records and ensuring all licenses, endorsements, medical certifications, and qualifications remain current and compliant with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate safety orientation and provide ongoing driver training, coaching, and mentoring focused on defensive driving, compliance, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Conduct road test evaluations for driver candidates to assess safe driving skills, professionalism, and readiness for the role.
- Implement new or updated training as needed to support operational changes, safety initiatives, company standards, and DOT/FMCSA compliance requirements.
- Assist with incident investigations, documentation, and follow-up actions to reinforce safe workplace practices and regulatory compliance.
- Use strong public speaking, presentation, written communication, and critical thinking skills to deliver effective training and communicate expectations clearly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a Lead or Supervisory role
- 2+ years of driving experience (shuttle, routed, or point-to-point transportation using a vehicle with a 10,000 GVWR or greater)
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or training drivers
- Strong defensive driving skills and knowledge of safe driving practices
- Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA safety and compliance requirements
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and public speaking skills
- Ability to document incidents, training outcomes, and performance concerns clearly and accurately
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Must have experience in using Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
- CDL Class A or B License
- Passenger Endorsement
- Current/Active DOT Medical Card
