Overview Interventional Radiology PA District Medical Group (DMG) is a respected leader in the healthcare industry in the Phoenix area, with a reputation for outstanding leadership, innovation and dedication to the patients and communities we serve. DMG is actively recruiting for an Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant to join our Radiology Department based at Valleywise Health Medical Center. The IR PA serves as a physician extender to assist in the performance of direct patient care by collaborating with referring physicians, interacting with allied hospital staff, and with patients (inpatient/outpatient) to enhance the section’s clinical presence and to work within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include : Order laboratory and radiographic studies and consult other services as appropriate Conduct outpatient and inpatient direct patient care via obtaining history and performing physical examinations, pre- and post-procedural evaluations with documentation, obtaining informed consents, doing consultations and performing inpatient rounds. Take medical histories, perform physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses and evaluate patients in the IR Clinic. Develop and manage patient care plans; document progress; assist with follow-ups. Help develop, review and manage referrals and perform comprehensive workups Field phone calls or use other means of communication with patients, referring physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals, regarding the coordination of patient care Potential for telemedicine or virtual health visits Potential to evaluate patients at other Valleywise outpatient sites Handle patient and provider communications regarding care coordination using strong communication skills. Educate patients about their conditions, medical care and treatments, to assist with patient education, follow up and to perform discharge notes.
