Network Engineer

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent classified IT Network & Telecommunications - Journey in the IT Services department. This position will support enterprise IT infrastructure, including Networking, Server administration, Telecom services & Structured Cabling while participating in planning, automation, and technology projects. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Administer wired, wireless, and telecommunications infrastructure supporting campus connectivity and voice services. Configure and maintain switches, VLANs, network equipment, telecom hardware, and related infrastructure. Install and support network equipment, structured cabling, low-voltage connectivity, phone systems, and telecom endpoints. Troubleshoot network, wireless, voice, and telecommunications service issues. Coordinate vendors for infrastructure, network, telecommunications, cabling, and related service needs. Administer Windows and Linux Servers. Manage backup systems. Document Structured Cabling, Server and Network infrastructure, Administer AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Identity management. Develop PowerShell automation. Support disaster recovery and business continuity needs. Research and implement new technologies as directed by management. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals and groups to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Excellent customer service that consistently meets or exceeds the needs of customers. Mentor junior staff. Perform related duties as required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES: Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas: Associate's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field AND three (3) years' experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure. Additional years of service may substitute for educational and certificate requirements. Have or able to obtain within the probationary period a Washington State L&I Class 09 Limited Energy (Low Voltage) Electrician Certificate. Experience in structured cabling installation, network switch configuration, wireless infrastructure support, windows and Linux server administration, telecommunications support. #J-18808-Ljbffr
