Job Description UW Medicine Operator Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Communications Representative/Telecom Dispatcher/PBX.

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours per week Night Shift Tuesdays to Saturdays 11pm to 7:30am

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

UW Medicine Telecom Team provides 24/7 coverage answering the UWMC and HMC switchboards Our team values excellent customer service, timely response, accurate dispatch and paging, and courteous processing of calls We receive, and route calls for our patients, their families, and staff

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Answer all incoming calls into the main telephone numbers for the medical centers Transfer external and internal calls Provide visitor information and general customer service reception Receive and dispatch all emergency communication calls to include trauma codes, code blue, and other medical emergencies Paging services for patients, staff, and medical providers Monitor and respond to alarms

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma, or GED Certificate; AND one year of experience as a Telephone Communications Operator, or equivalent. Six months of additional qualifying experience may substitute for required education. Ability to work in a team setting Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
